The most affordable option is 9k gold, which contains 375/1000 parts pure gold, while 14k gold contains 585/1000 parts pure gold, and 18k gold contains 750/1000 parts pure gold. The price difference is also affected by the specific gravity of the gold, as 18k gold is significantly heavier than 9k gold. As a result, 18k gold is more expensive due to its higher gold content and greater weight.

The higher gold content of 18k also gives it a more vivid yellow color compared to 9k, although the difference may not be immediately apparent. In the case of white and rose gold, the same results can be achieved with 9k or 14k due to the use of special alloys for jewelry, which are always nickel-free.
